The giant excavator has a top speed of about 0.5 mph, which it can use to reposition itself within the mine that it usually occupies.\n\nIt will sometimes travel longer distances, but this is a monumental undertaking. That 0.5 mph speed is only when everything is going perfectly, but terrain conditions as well as the logistics of keeping the vehicle powered do not allow it to maintain such a high speed for the entire journey.
